The New Enugu Smart City is a massive 10,000-hectare urban development project spearheaded by Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah. Located along the Enugu-Abakaliki Expressway, it is designed as a technology-enabled city featuring integrated underground utilities (fiber-optics, central sewage, water, and gas pipelines), solar-powered streetlights, 6-to-8 lane carriageways, and smart security architecture.
The development is a major focal point for foreign direct investment. The Enugu State Government is partnering with the China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) and various United Kingdom-based consulting firms to execute the master plan.
